Position Overview: We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented person to join our office Team! The Reservationist and Customer Service Representative Position is responsible for handling guest inquiries by phone and email, booking group reservations, and coordinating with internal teams. This is a seasonal position ending in December 2026 with the opportunity to return in the Spring.

The Location: The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring is located on the 140-acre wooded campus of the Sandy Spring Friends School, located in Montgomery County, 7 minutes off Georgia Avenue and the ICC (MD-200). www.TheAdventurePark.com.

The Reservationist and Customer Service Representative position is primarily remote, though reasonable proximity to the Park is required. In-person attendance is required for training.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Director of Business Development.

Details/Duties:

  • Answer phones, emails, and reservation inquiries, providing guests with basic information about park, programs, discounts and reservation information.
  • Promote applicable upsells and attempt to close reservation sales.
  • Learn the Adventure Park's operating procedures to ensure appropriate bookings are made at all times.
  • Schedule, plan, and process payments for group reservations using reservation software.
  • Ensure that reservations are not double-booked, that appropriate spaces are reserved, special requests are properly indicated and managed, and that all major events or reservations are directed to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Maintain communication and provide updates to the rest of the team and other Park departments as necessary.
  • Work with group coordinators and Park staff to manage on-site reservations, events, and special requests during guests’ visit.
  • Direct non sales related inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with online orders, season passes, and promotional item inventory.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

  • Telephone sales and/or guest service experience
  • Experience with reservation systems or schedule/calendar management
  • Experience working with small - large event planners (10-300 people)
  • Ability to perform work remotely on a regular basis is required.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule, ability to work during the height of the season as business demands
  • Candidates with additional experience/background in the following areas are desirable: travel/tourism, service industry, sales, event planning, outdoor adventure facilities, and customer service.
  • College degree preferred
  • Weekend availability is required

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong computer skills and technological aptitude. In addition to our reservation management/CRM software, The Adventure Park primarily uses G-mail, Slack, and Zoom virtual phone to communicate internally & externally.
  • Clear, accurate, and effective verbal and written communication skills. English is required, Spanish is a plus.
  • Must have exceptionally strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to effectively assess and analyze a guest or prospective guests’ needs.
  • Possess an outgoing, friendly disposition and professional demeanor at all times
  • Love working with people of all ages and abilities!
  • Enjoy working in an office environment/remotely; this is not primarily an outdoor park position.
  • The ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be organized and able to self-manage
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and to handle difficult situations professionally
  • Be a quick and independent learner, able to pick up things on the job and quickly adapt to new situations on their own

Schedule:

  • This is a seasonal position working approximately 30-40 hours a week (4-5 shifts).
  • Our office is open up to 7 days/week. Weekday and weekend availability is required.
  • The position is seasonal; the season ends when the park closes in early December. The following season will begin in February of the following year.
