Windsor Mountain Summer Camp - Ropes Course Department Head
Location: Windsor, NH
Employment Type: 2026 Summer season- Full-Time
Dates: June 6, 2026 - August 20, 2026 (option to add on September)
Salary: Competitive; $400 - $600 per week
Benefits Package: We provide a travel allowance, room and board, and full access to all camp facilities during your off-hours.

Job Summary
At Windsor Mountain, we seek to hire kind, caring, and fun people who want to work with children. The High Ropes Course Department Head oversees the safety and organization of our Ropes Course, is responsible for scheduling and leading a team of staff while following industry safety standards. Our Ropes Course Department Head assists in training staff in team building, activity planning, emergency protocol, and belay certification. This position is perfect for a professional who loves working with children and thrives in an engaging, community-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
- provide overall leadership and management of the program area
- assist with training ropes course staff on safety protocols and on-site procedures
- responsible for implementing safe and engaging activities that are age appropriate, supervise counselors in their program area, maintain a clean and safe environment, ensure program equipment is well looked after, communicate supplies that need to be ordered in a timely manner, and program evaluation
- serves as a member of our program team and is charged with working in a collaborative way with their peers to ensure the success of all program areas at camp
- Lead large and small groups through a progression of teambuilding activities, low ropes elements, high challenge course elements, and reflective discussions tailored to their program goals
- Delegate and support staff assigned to the high ropes and challenge course areas providing supervision, guidance, support and feedback
- Maintain strict safety protocol for all ropes course programs according to our policies and industry standards, including equipment records and maintenance

Position qualifications:
· ropes course management certification (or willingness to obtain)
· ropes course rescue certification (or willingness to obtain)
· ropes course experience
· Must pass Skills Verification, including rescue skills
· Patient and reliable
· Organizational and communication skills
· Energetic and positive personality
· Must successfully clear FBI and state criminal background checks
· Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time; ability to lift up to 40lbs; ability to push, pull, bend and kneel regularly
· Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather
