REVISION TO ANSI/ACCT 03-2019

Abstract of Project. This document represents the minimum consensus practices for Challenge Course, Aerial Adventure/Trekking Park, Canopy Tour, and Zip Line Tour professionals. The information presented here is to be used by designers, installers, and inspectors in the creation and maintenance of courses. Owners, operators, and trainers are expected to use the standards to operate facilities for participants. In order, the three chapters establish requirements for the design, performance, and inspection of elements and associated equipment, establish minimum operational procedures and staff competencies, and establish requirements intended to enable course owner/operators to design and deliver training that meets the minimum industry standards and provide necessary content for staff.

Current Status. PINS posted in Standards Action on September 5, 2025. A Consensus Body is being convened. ACCT is soliciting volunteers to serve on the Consensus Body and Standards Writing Groups.

Scope of Work. This is a revision to ANSI/ACCT 03-2019.

Description of Project. Revise standards to enhance consistency in terminology, structure, and application, with integration of evolving industry practices and technological developments.

HOW ACCT MEMBERS & STAKEHOLDERS CAN PARTICIPATE

For those seeking to be a member of a Standards Writing Group that has not yet been convened, enter “TIRE/Standards Writing Task Groups” and list the areas of standards you would be interested in working on in response to the question, “Do you have an idea of the volunteer group(s) you would like to get involved with?”
