Utah Regulation

Posted By: Scott Andrews Regulatory Updates,

On December 15, 2020, the State of Utah published the first draft of new Amusement Ride Regulations.  The new regulation will affect zip lines and could affect other types of courses in the state.  The regulations will be open for public comment until January 14, 2021.  The current document is available at Utah State Bulletin, December 15, 2020, Vol. 2020, No. 24.  As these rules would require inspection of operations to the ASTM F770 standards and would remove ACCT ICE inspectors from those authorized to inspect courses, it is very important for owner operators and facilitators to read and carefully comment on this draft regulation.

ACCT will be publishing additional information and analysis of the proposed regulation on the www.ACCTregmap.org blog between now and December 24.  Those who are concerned or have questions about the regulation are strongly encouraged to reach out to ACCT Policy Director, Scott Andrews at (scott.andrews@acctinfo.org).
