Travel Requirements
Travel as required for Navitat Knoxville, industry conferences, and professional training. Lodging and
mileage paid by Navitat. Typical travel does not exceed 24 days annually.

About the Role
The General Manager leads Navitat's total operations while executing Ownership's long-term vision. GM provides leadership for operations, infrastructure, maintenance, inspections, training, risk management, personnel, and guest experience. This leader is technically proficient in course operations, infrastructure, and inspections, and is qualified to perform Course Manager responsibilities when needed. The Navitat GM identifies practical improvements that strengthen safety, reliability, efficiency, and the guest experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute Ownership's vision through daily operations and long-term organizational development.
- Lead adventure operations, infrastructure, maintenance, inspections, and risk management.
- Supervise, develop, and evaluate management, guide, and technical staff.
- Maintain and improve operational systems, protocols, policies, training programs, and documentation.
- Oversee aerial courses, access equipment, buildings, roads, utilities, fleet, parking areas, signage, landscaping, and guest-support infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership for aerial adventure systems, fall-protection equipment, braking systems, controlled descent devices, and inspection programs.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop employees.
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, insurance claims, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Continually improve operations, infrastructure, safety, efficiency, and guest experience.
- Collaborate with Ownership on capital improvements, strategic initiatives, and new program development.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintain maintenance, inspection, training, and incident documentation.
- Maintain equipment inventories, and replacement schedules.
- Support projects at Navitat Knoxville as needed.
- Represent Navitat at industry meetings and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Reside within approximately 20 minutes of Navitat in Barnardsville, NC.
- Minimum four years of management experience in the aerial adventure industry.
- Extensive outdoor leadership or technical field experience.
- Commercial rope access and rigging experience.
- Excellent spatial awareness and mechanical problem-solving ability.
- Can clearly convey technical concepts to employees with varying technical acuity.
- Exercises sound judgment under pressure.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., traverse rough terrain, and work outdoors for long periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Emergency medical response training
- Radio Communications experience
- Adventure or outdoor guiding experience.
- Drawing or sketching skills.
- Multi-pitch rock climbing experience.
- Arboriculture or professional tree work experience.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Commercial rope access and rigging experience.
