Project Adventure’s artificial climbing wall and tower training will include elements of client orientation, belay system choices, and wall equipment care. It will also cover additional climbing wall activities including rescue techniques. EACH PARTICIPANT WILL RECEIVE A BELAY VERIFICATION AT THE END OF THE TRAINING. Participants will: Be introduced to artificial climbing walls as an educational tool; Explore intentional learning outcomes and curriculum; Develop best practices related to artificial climbing wall environments; Develop a level of consistency and competency in the following areas: client orientation and instruction, general climbing skills including movement, options for attaching the climber, belaying techniques and options (Primary, Australian, TEAM), equipment care and use, structural inspection and care, facilitator wall/tower access and off-hours public access prevention, route setting considerations, and awareness of potential climber problems; Be introduced to additional climbing wall activities such as rappelling, ascending a fixed rope, and étrier ascents and traverses; Learn and practice rope rescue techniques related to the climbing wall environment
