Camp Kippewa is a dynamic all-girls overnight camp situated in the scenic landscape of Monmouth, Maine right on Lake Cobbosseecontee. We offer a timeless camping experience for girls aged 7-15, featuring personalized activity scheduling, a supportive atmosphere, top-notch instruction, and infectious enthusiasm. Staff join us for 10 weeks, while campers attend one of our three camps.  

Position Overview:

Camp Kippewa is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our leadership team as the Ropes Course/Adventure Director. As the director, you will oversee the climbing tower, high-ropes and aerial adventure course, and zipline activities, ensuring a safe and exciting experience for campers while fostering personal growth, teamwork, and confidence.

Responsibilities:

Activity Oversight: Manage all aspects of the climbing tower, high-ropes course, and zipline activities, ensuring they align with camp safety standards and regulations.

Program Development: Collaborate with the ropes team to enhance and develop adventure programs that align with Camp Kippewa's mission and goals.

Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular equipment inspections, and coordinate with relevant staff to maintain a secure adventure environment.

Camper Engagement: Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages camper participation, skill development, and personal growth.

Staff Supervision: Supervise a team of 10 college-aged counselors in facilitating the course.

Serve as a member of the camp's leadership team, helping to participate in camp-wide events such as Evening Activities, Special Events, and Camp-Wide supervision responsibilities.  

Qualifications:

Previous experience in ropes course and adventure activity management.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Passion for outdoor adventure and fostering personal development in campers.

Positions runs from May 31 to  August 17.
