Job Summary

 The Family Adventure Park is a dynamic operation with activities that change between winter and summer seasons. The Assistant Manager helps to facilitate the zip lines, tubing, climbing, gem mining, and bounce house operations while emphasizing safety and profitability. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for filling in when the Manager is absent. This position requires strong leadership, interpersonal communication, along with planning and organization skills. Must be at least 21, comfortable working at heights, and have a good driving record. Prior supervisory experience and prior experience in the industry is preferred.

Core Responsibilities

  •  Ensure the operation adheres to all of the evolving laws and standards related to the industry
  •  Promote a positive culture in the work place to enhance the productivity and morale of the team
  •  Monitor and respond to the feedback from customers and employees to meet the growing customer service expectations and business goals
  •  Proactively plan between seasons to implement changes and to ensure a seamless transition between the seasonally changing activities
  •  Manage Zipline Course Maintenance and Annual Inspections
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Focus

Tasks and Duties

  • Oversee the work of all employees and direct supervisory staff in accordance with departmental objectives
  • Directly support manager and stand in as needed
  • Monitor employee training, skills, and task proficiency and adjust as needed
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and hiring/disciplinary actions
  • Ensure departmental standards and training guidelines are upheld by supervisory staff

Communication and Team Involvement

  • Facilitate teamwork building initiatives and monitor progress
  • Provide feedback to/from supervisors and managers

Decision-Making and Initiative

  • Consider feedback and communicate with manager to respond and develop solutions
  • Implement long-range departmental objectives beyond the scope of daily operations

Professional Development and Mentoring

  • Direct supervisory staff and provide opportunities for growth
  • Promote employee engagement and involvement in decision-making
  •  Provide effective feedback and reinforce teachable moments
