AERIAL COURSE INSPECTOR

Role: Aerial Course Inspector

Position Overview: This is a project based seasonal part-time field position where you often work solo inspecting a variety of aerial courses to deliver annual inspections whose scope is determined by provincial law although most are typically ACCT inspections. This position requires travel to the job site where you will live and work for the duration of the project, which could be anywhere from 1-5 days. Lodging, travel and per diem provided by Alpine Towers. 

Location: Company HQ is in Asheville, NC-However, this position can be based anywhere in the United States.

Education Requirement: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 1-3 years experience in a related field

Job Requirements:

• Be a minimum of 21 years old

• Have a minimum of 150 documented builder days

• Demonstrate skill, experience, and training to be considered a competent person regarding worker safety and fall protection

• Operational experience preferred, but not required

• Familiar with Tensionmeter, Load Cell, Range finder, Caliper, Torque wrench, and other Inspection Instruments/Tools

• Meet the visual requirements needed to have a valid state Driver’s License

• Current Level 1-2 Professional Inspector Certification holder preferred or able to eventually meet qualifications and pass the exam (https://www.acctinfo.org/inspector-certification)

• NAARSO & AIMS accepted but not required

Physical Abilities Required:

• Must have the ability and desire to work outside in all weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, wind, and precipitation 

• Physically able to access a variety of course components for visual & tactile assessments

• This position requires the ability to lift at least 50lbs plus and walk/stand for long periods of time

• Ability to work at heights in excess of 50-ft.

Position Responsibilities:

• Conduct Inspections that meet ACCT and other relevant industry standards using ATI protocol

• Maintain an up to date portfolio and complete a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education credit annually or more if province requires it

• Abide by safety policy procedures at all times in a work at height environment

• Be mindful of maintaining an efficient work ethic (i.e. stay focused on job progress, quality, safety, and overall cost of the job while engaged in the project)

• Organize and turn in paperwork (i.e. initial findings report, inspection reports, time and expense reports, receipts) in a timely manner

• Take ownership and be a leader in your role

• Take pride in the work you do

• Interact with customers in a professional manner
