Course Description:
Level 1 Certification Course Description:
The Level 1 training targets the knowledge and skills to operate and manage the risks of challenge course elements. This comprehensive course covers High elements and includes curriculum regarding Inspections, Gear/Equipment, Belaying, Knot-tying, Experiential Theory, and Emergency Action Plans. Low Elements will be covered via Blended Learning with in-person testing and skill verification At the conclusion, the practitioner will have the tools to operate most educational/recreational course elements and the knowledge to test for Level 1 certification.
High Elements include: Dynamically Belayed Elements (Vertical and Traversing), Static Course (Traditional and Continuous Belay), Climbing Wall (Auto Belay), Leaping Elements, Zipline (Gravity and Hydraulic).
Online Low Elements Description:
The Online Low Elements, Level 1 Certification Challenge Course Practitioners Training/Testing is a 20-hour hybrid course consisting of online work and in-person hands-on testing that is consistent with current Challenge Course Operation Standards as published by the Association for Challenge Course Technology. Up to twelve people may participate in Training/Testing. Trainees must complete the online portion of the training before the in-person testing.
Certification Pre-requisites:
• Minimum age of 18
• No experience required (Level 1)
Non-Certification Options: If you do not meet the prerequisites or do not wish to take the Certification test, you may still take the course for Audit credit.
Cancellation Policy: The processing fee is NON-REFUNDABLE regardless of the reason for cancellation. Cancellation 15 days prior to training will be refunded in full MINUS the processing fee or a full credit may be applied to a future training within 12 months. Cancellations between 7-15 days prior to the training will either receive a refund of 50% of the training fee or it may be applied to a future training within 12 months. Cancellations 7 days prior to the training will not be refunded.
No-Go Date: Please keep in mind that the No-Go date for this training is August 10th, 2026. If we do not reach our minimum of 5 participants signed up, the course will be cancelled, at which point you will be notified for next steps.
