Description & Details:

Position Overview: The Koteewi Aerial Adventure Course Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all participants using the aerial adventure course have a safe and rewarding experience through ongoing training/staff support, program development and excellent client communication and outreach. This position works collaboratively with the Assistant Course Manager to plan and implement programs at the Koteewi Aerial Adventure in Noblesville, Indiana. In addition to providing adventure experiences to the general public, Koteewi Aerial Adventure engages with schools, non-profits, corporations, and community-based organizations to design and implement fun and engaging single/multi day recreational experiences throughout the season. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Organize and maintain consistent documentation, including inspections, incident reports, equipment inventory, staff training records and LOP’s.

·       Meet or exceed industry standards for conducting and delivering site specific staff training, inspections, site maintenance, and equipment inventory.

·       Ensure high quality programs through innovative program evaluations and ongoing training of staff.

·       Manage concessions inventory and order supplies as needed.

·       Balance cash registers at the end of each shift and calculate deposit for weekly cash drop.

·       Manage online booking software and assist with troubleshooting issues as they arise with clients.

·       Conduct outreach and maintain collaborative relationships with Hamilton County Parks & Recreation, Strawtown Koteewi Park partners, community-based organizations, school, non-profits, and other partners.

·       Ensure that risk management procedures are followed and that programs follow all relevant regulations and other applicable standards.

·       Schedule, supervise and mentor the Assistant Course Manager and guides of Koteewi Aerial Adventure.

·       Serve as main site risk management officer by providing ongoing analysis and evaluation of policies and procedures, as well as on site point of contact for rescues and medical emergencies.

·       Implement programs that are developmentally appropriate with both client goals and participant needs in mind.

·       Liaison with the Koteewi Park partners in monthly meetings and when needed.

·       Meet with the Co-Owner’s on a weekly basis (or as deemed necessary).

·       Assist with delivery of programming as needed and other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

 

This is a full-time, salary, seasonal, exempt position. The employment term for this position if from February to November. The individual in this position is expected to work on average, 40 hours a week.  Person in this position will be required to work weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday). Other shifts vary based on program needs and will require on-call shifts as duties demand. 

Work Environment: 

This position is an in-person position with opportunity to work remotely with advanced approval. This individual will have office space at Strawtown Koteewi Park in Noblesville, IN to fulfill job duties. This job operates in both a professional office setting and at Koteewi Aerial Adventure in Strawtown Koteewi Park. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This role also works outside in all weather conditions and routinely uses climbing and challenge equipment, power tools, inspection tools, and implements proper safety techniques.

Physical Demands: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs, safely climb and access high challenge course elements up to 50ft in height and be comfortable spending multiple hours at height in a full-body harness and helmet. Travel/Training: 

Travel and participating in training to expand the individual’s professional development is a component of the Course Manager role. Travel is primarily local during the business day across the Hamilton County area, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected. Mileage reimbursement is available for eligible trips. All travel and training participation must be approved by the Co-Owners.

Qualifications & Skills: 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent education or experience.
  • Two years of experience with staff and/or volunteer supervision, program development, and/or budget management.
  • Current Level I Certification from an accredited ACCT Professional Vendor Member (or ability to obtain within 1 – 2 months of position start).
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 1 – 2 months of position start).
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and management skills.
  • Commitment to extraordinary customer service with the ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suit (Word, Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Outlook).

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant program or equivalent education or experience.
  • Current Level I or II Certification from an accredited ACCT Professional Vendor Member (or ability to obtain within 1 – 2 months of position start).
  • Current Challenge Course Manager Certification from an accredited ACCT Professional Vendor Member (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Regional knowledge of local climbing and challenge course industry professionals and programs.

Applicants are subject to a background check, and employment is contingent upon the verification of the completion of the background check. Applicants must be able to attend the All Company Gathering March 19th-24th. Applicants must be able to attend/conduct New Staff Orientation April 11th-13th and attend Staff Training April 11th – 13st. Applicant may have the option to extend the offer of employment past November based on performance and company workload.
