Position: Policy Director
Status: Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Executive Director

Job Description

This is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director. The Policy Director (PD) will be responsible for implementing and overseeing ACCT’s nascent government relations initiatives, including but not limited to the successful execution of a government relations strategic plan that takes a pro-active stance in addressing regulatory issues in the challenge course, aerial adventure park, and zip line industry. The PD develops productive working relationships with regulatory officials and works to promote the adoption of the ACCT standard into the regulatory framework where applicable. In addition, the PD will be responsible for overseeing all issues and matters related to ANSI compliance, serves as Secretary of the ACCT Consensus Group, and supports and coordinates ACCT’s standards development process in conjunction with the Standards Development Committee, and other standards development organizations as necessary.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience working with regulatory agencies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of government relations and the regulatory environment.
  • Superior written and communication skills.
  • Proficient in various project management, software, and file share platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Adobe InDesign, Basecamp, Dropbox, etc.
  • Exceptional leadership skills along with the demonstrated ability to work as a member of high performing teams.
  • Desired: experience or familiarity with the challenge course, aerial adventure park/zip line industry.
