Adventure Designs and Trainings is one of the most trusted resources for new and veteran challenge course professionals. Our extensive portable/ground initiative training intensive will teach prospective facilitators and practitioners the basics needed to successfully operate, manage, design, and present portable ground initiative programs. These initiatives are perfect for individuals in training and HR setting and provide a solid skill set needed to develop team building programs and trainings.

The training will take places over the course of two days and will include ACCT standards, best practices, elements of facilitation, element of program design/redesign, common mistake and misconceptions, extensive portable training (learning, teaching, and presenting roughly 40 portable team building challenges) as well as facilitation practice and presentation.

Experiential: participate in portable challenge initiatives to gain a better understanding of the participant’s experience and how to facilitate these activities.

Soft Skills Training: the role of the facilitator, opening a group and setting the tone for a rich, successful learning experience; group contract/boundaries; how to avoid common facilitator “traps" and other tools.

Working with Groups: learn about group dynamics including stages of group development; understand the experiential learning cycle; tools for working with various client populations.

Program Design: principles of good program design; adapting to group dynamics and modifying variables such as tempo and intensity of activities to create an impactful program; trouble-shooting and redesign.

Processing/Debriefing Skills: questions to ask to facilitate the “Aha!” moment(s); learn different methods of processing during a program.

This training will also have the option to purchase a portable training kit (identical to the 40-initiative kit used in training) if placed before February 1st. Kits cost $750/package (manuals, carrying case, supplies, and labels included.)
